The performance engine in particular has been further improved and refined based on Impact Soundworks' years of experience, giving you the most realistic playback right out of the box. It allows for total customization of all articulations (mapping by velocity, keyswitch, or MIDI CC), adjustment of the live performance engine, under-the-hood engine variables, and a custom FX rack with presets built in. Users of Impact Soundworks' virtual guitars will be immediately familiar with the UI of Shreddage Bass 2. This is not just a badass bass for rock & metal music, but the premier virtual electric bass for any musical style!
The instrument’s massive 4.5 octave range starts at a sub-destroying low G up to a high C#, allowing you to play or sequence any bass part you can think of.Įverything learned from the Shreddage 2 series has been applied to Shreddage Bass 2 – Impact Soundworks' most realistic performance engine, extensive tweaking options, beautiful legatos, and meticulous editing. As with Impact Soundworks´ virtual guitar instruments, each string was sampled in exhaustive detail across every fret, at multiple dynamics, and with up to 8x round robin variations per note. Shreddage Bass 2 features over 11,000+ samples recorded through a Universal Audio Solo/610 analog tubepreamp/DI box for maximum fatness, punch, and warmth. Tony brought his massive experience and skill to recording the library from both the perspective of a performer and a producer he also brought his custom-made, one-of-a-kind handmade Muckelroy bass! Unlike the original Shreddage Bass library, Shreddage Bass 2 uses a much more versatile fingered playing style performed by master bassist, composer, and session musician Tony Dickinson.
Shreddage Bass 2 captures the full potential of the electric bass using a masterwork custom 6-string instrument recorded through legendary analog gear. A bass doesn’t just provide the meat and low-end of the track – it anchors and glues all other elements together, and even shine as a virtuosic solo instrument in the hands of an expert. Shreddage uses a simple interface and mapping scheme with low CPU and RAM usage. At the foundation of any killer track is a killer bass groove. We're confident that with this library, we've proved the doubters wrong! Interface For years we've read that it's simply not possible to have realistic guitar samples without loops.
Just load up the master patch and prepare to have your face melted. There is still no need to memorize complex keyswitches, excessive midi CC automation or pedal futzing. The portamento time can be reduced to create more subtle legato transitions, eliminated, or kept at max to create dramatic custom slides and dives.Īll this newfound power would be for naught if it were hard to use, so we reprogrammed the patches and kept them as easy to use as ever. Shreddage X includes true recorded portamento slides on every single note and powerchord, up to an octave. We started by lowering the tuning even further, going from Bb to Ab (the "A" is for "Armaggedon".) We added non-pinched vibrato on every note, for even more expressive performances, then recorded traditional harmonics (with no vibrato) as well as blazing tremolo picking. The Shreddage X expansion pack / add-on goes a step further. Swap out individual patches to tweak your performance multi. Just load and play - each hand gets a different type of articulation, and velocities handle the rest. The Kontakt patches feature a scripted interface that allows you to easily tweak envelopes and EQ, but does not require any sort of fancy keyswitches or MIDI CC control to use.
Shreddage requires next to no editing or humanization to sound realistic right out of the box, and thus can be dropped in a track to fill it out, doubling a real guitarist or serving as a highly-accurate placeholder or demo until live guitars are recorded. It's also a great tool for producers and even guitarists! This library isn't just for composers, though it is very easy to use in the context of trailer cues, video game arrangements and other massive productions.
The result of this intense design focus (and two full years of research and development) is an extremely playable and realistic instrument. Rather than trying to cover every possible technique or style, it is focused entirely on rhythm playing in a rock/metal style. Shreddage is a DI guitar sample library like no other.
